Our Preamble
We the Bophuthatswana Civil Movement (BCM), in humble recognition of the Sovereignty of the Almighty God, who in His eternal wisdom has determined that the indigenous people of South Africa, should dwell on this Southern part of the African continent, are dedicated to restoring the dignity and respect for the indigenous people and our Kings that have been stripped of their God given right to lead their nations. We address contemporary socioeconomic challenges as a generation of emerging leaders. We publicly affirm our commitment to the ongoing struggle for the full recognition of all indigenous languages, our different tribes and our Kings. Since the dawn of democracy, indigenous communities still face marginalization regarding cultural recognition, language development, and the recognition of their Kings in South Africa, economic exclusions and in former Bantustans the total decimation of economic hubs, cultural infrastructure and functioning economic systems.
Acknowledging this reality is not tribalism; it is the articulation of a lived experience, and not a rejection of South Africa, but a demand for the full recognition of the diverse people, who constitute the nation. We honour our predecessors not through silence, but through the responsibility of continuing their work — a generational obligation we solemnly accept.
RE BATHO, RE BATSWANA, RE ITSE SEMELO SA RONA, RE ITSE LEMORAGO LA RONA, RE IPELA KA RONA.
